The extremely solid base of the Model 12-BC grinder results from use of a single 12" x 12" square steel tube for the main column . Grinding heads are adjusted by Acme threaded screws through Ampco bronze nuts. Motor slides are fabricated from stress-proof shafting operating through Frelon coated linear bushings. These details provide head to head linear alignment through the total adjustment travel. FLEXIBILITY Our Model 12-BC grinder uses the same diameter grinding plate as the Model 18-2V Moyer grinder. This design puts the spring path behind the center. With full stones, a 6" long spring can be ground. The Model 12-BC can be effectively used as a steady production machine or as an efficient short run grinder. The Moyer Automation System is available for this machine. 2 - DRESSER DESIGN Moyer's 2 dresser design dresses both top and bottom stones without removing the carrier plate or swinging the front of the machine out of the way. A pair of dresser arms swing from an independent shaft attached to the machine's main column. This design eliminates dresser shake and dresser arm deflection. GUARDING The grinding wheels are guarded on all sides for operator safety. A 36 sq. in. dust collector tube located at the rear of the grinding wheels provides maximum cleanliness and does not interfere with operation.
ELECTRICAL Vertically opposed spindle motors are 2 HP. Carrier plate is driven by a .25 HP adjustable speed drive through a double enveloping gearbox. Electrical controls housed in a Hoffman NEMA 12 enclosure. Transformer and all motors are individually fused. Magnetic starters are operated with 115 Volts. Disconnect switch is rated at 30 Amp capacity. The 12" grinder may be wired for 230 or 460 voltage. Other voltages can be provided. OPTIONS AVAILABLE
